From bookkeeping to annual report
Regnskab Basis is the Danish Business Authority’s own solution at erst.virk.dk for filing the annual report. It is filled in from an accounts file with the company’s balances on the Danish Business Authority’s standard accounts. Every account in your chart of accounts points to its standard account, and Veneti adds up the financial year’s booked figures on them. The standard chart is the Danish Business Authority’s common chart of accounts: the chart in Veneti points to it from the start, and an account you create yourself is given its standard account under Chart of accounts.
The page under Filings → Annual report has two views: Regnskab Basis, which shows the form line by line as erst.virk.dk shows it after the upload, with the income statement, assets and liabilities; and Chart of accounts, which shows the company’s own income statement and balance sheet for the same period.
How to prepare the annual report
Finish booking the year
Only booked entries count in the file. The page says how many vouchers for the period are still in the journal, so you book them first.
Read the warnings
The page warns about accounts with figures but no standard account, accounts on a standard account Regnskab Basis does not show, and figures that sit in extra fields. Every account links to its row in the Chart of accounts, so you correct the mapping there.
Download the accounts file
Press Download accounts file. The file is the financial year closed on the standard accounts in whole kroner: profit and loss accounts with the year’s movement, balance accounts with the balance at the year’s end, and the year’s result on Retained earnings. The file is named Regnskab Basis Annual report, the company’s name and today’s date.
Upload in Regnskab Basis
Upload the file under Regnskabsfil in Regnskab Basis. Fields the file does not fill in, for example the appropriation of profit and staff costs, you type yourself, and you complete the rest of the filing in Regnskab Basis as before.
What you see on the page
- The period is a financial year, the newest completed one by default, or any interval to the day.
- Last year shows the previous financial year beside it, and Extra fields shows the fields Regnskab Basis hides until you switch them on there.
- Click a line to see the booked entries behind it, to the øre: a profit and loss account shows the period’s entries, a balance account the opening balance and the period’s entries.
- The warnings sit behind one sign in the toolbar and open when you hover over it.
- The figures are in whole kroner, as Regnskab Basis reads them, rounded so the balance sheet still balances.
You file it
Veneti sends nothing to the Danish Business Authority. You download the file, upload it in Regnskab Basis and complete the filing there. The mapping from your accounts to the standard accounts is yours: the standard chart is set up from the start, and you adjust it under Chart of accounts when an account should land elsewhere. Your accountant can follow along through Read access and sees the same figures, warnings and entries as you before you file. The guide on the annual report for an ApS goes through the process from the end of the financial year to the approved annual report.
Which plans include the annual report?
The Annual report page and the accounts file are included in every plan, Free included, as long as the company has an active subscription. See the pricing, or get started.
Questions
What is Regnskab Basis?
The Danish Business Authority’s own solution at erst.virk.dk for filing the annual report. It can be filled in from an accounts file with balances on the standard chart of accounts, and that is the file you download here.
Why does the balance sheet in Regnskab Basis not balance?
Most often because vouchers for the period are still in the journal, or because an amount sits in an extra field that is switched off in Regnskab Basis. The page warns about both before you download the file.
Can I upload the SAF-T file in Regnskab Basis instead?
No. Regnskab Basis reads an accounts file with balances on the standard chart of accounts, not the full SAF-T export. Download the accounts file under Filings → Annual report.
Does Veneti do the year-end closing?
Veneti books no closing entries. The file closes the year on the standard accounts, so the year’s result lands on Retained earnings and the balance sheet balances.
