Switching

Switch from Dinero to Veneti

If you are looking for an alternative to Dinero, this is where you see what happens to your bookkeeping when you move it. Dinero's postings per accounting year are enough for Veneti to move the whole history, free of charge within 48 hours and reconciled to the last øre, so the balance of every account is the same as before.

  • Postings downloaded as CSV, one accounting year at a time
  • The documents through the Dropbox folder or one by one
  • Keep your account numbers, or move to the standard chart
  • The bank takes over from the day you switch

What to download from Dinero

You download the postings under Regnskab → Posteringer (Accounting → Postings): press Søg (Search), then choose Download (CSV). Dinero shows one accounting year at a time, and you switch the year in the left corner, so you download one file per accounting year from the first year in Dinero to the last. The file holds account, account name, date, voucher, voucher type, text, VAT type, amount and balance, grouped by account. You do not need to download contacts or the chart of accounts: the postings carry account numbers and names themselves.

The documents are optional and come with you in two ways: all at once through Dinero's Dropbox integration, where you download the folder Apps → Dinero → the company's ID as a ZIP file, or one by one from Salg → Alle (Sales → All) for the invoices and Bogføring → Bilagsoversigt (Bookkeeping → Document overview) for the booked documents.

How Veneti reads the files

Send one file per accounting year to support@veneti.dk. If the first file begins with Primobeholdning, the years before are missing: Dinero opens every accounting year after the first with opening balances on the year's first day, and they are balances, not postings, so they are not counted, and a posting that appears in two files is counted once.

We make the move from the files: every booked posting becomes a voucher in Veneti, the accounting years follow the files, and the balance of every account is reconciled to the last øre, so the figures are the same as in Dinero. Open items with customers and suppliers are set up so payments can be settled against them. Customers and suppliers are created from what the posting texts name; you fill in address, email and payment terms under Customers & Suppliers when you need them. Documents you send along are kept with the move.

Keep your chart of accounts, or move to the standard chart

You choose one of three ways for the chart of accounts when you ask us to move your bookkeeping. Keep the chart from Dinero as it is, so account numbers and names stay the same. Take Venetis standard chart, where every account from Dinero is mapped to an account in the standard chart and you approve the mapping before anything is loaded. Or take the standard chart with a few accounts of your own. The VAT codes are ready from the start whichever you choose; the standard chart is described in the guide to the chart of accounts.

The history, the plan and the bank

The moved history does not count towards your plan's vouchers, however many years and postings it holds. So choose a plan by how much you will book from now on: Free has 5 vouchers a month, Pro and Pro+ 100 and Max 500, pooled over the accounting year. There is no lock-in, and you can change plan at any time.

Connect the bank through open banking: sign in with MitID in your own online bank, choose the account the transactions are booked on, and set the start date to the day of the switch. From that day every bank line arrives as a line in the journal with a suggested account and VAT code; everything before the date is the history from Dinero, so nothing is booked twice. You send customer invoices from Veneti as PDF or e-invoice, and the whole bookkeeping can always be downloaded again as SAF-T, CSV and every document as ZIP under Data export. Get started.

What does not come with you

  • Contact details beyond the name: the move does not take Dinero's contacts, so you fill in address, email and payment terms yourself.
  • Products: you create the goods and services for the customer invoice under Products.
  • The years before your first file: if it begins with opening balances, download the accounting years before, so the history is whole.

Questions

Which file do I download from Dinero?

The postings as CSV from Regnskab → Posteringer (Accounting → Postings), one file per accounting year. Press Søg (Search) first, then choose Download (CSV). You do not need to download contacts or the chart of accounts.

Why do I have to download one accounting year at a time?

Because Dinero shows and downloads one accounting year at a time; you switch the year in the left corner. Download every year from the first in Dinero to the last, so the history is whole.

What does Primobeholdning in the file mean?

It is the balance of every account on the year's first day, which Dinero writes at the top of every accounting year after the first. They are balances, not postings, and are not counted. If your first file begins with them, you are missing the years before.

How do I bring the documents from Dinero?

All at once as a ZIP file from the Dropbox folder Apps → Dinero → the company's ID, or one by one from Salg → Alle and Bogføring → Bilagsoversigt. The documents are optional; the postings alone are enough to send the move.

Do I keep my account numbers from Dinero?

Yes, if you choose to keep the chart of accounts as it is. If you choose the standard chart, every account from Dinero is mapped to an account in the standard chart, and you approve the mapping before anything is loaded.
