Switching
Switch from e-conomic to Veneti
If you are looking for an alternative to e-conomic, this is where you see what happens to your bookkeeping when you move it. e-conomic's own export holds what the move is built on: postings, accounts, VAT codes, customers, suppliers and accounting years. We move all of it free of charge within 48 hours, reconciled to the last øre.
- One export from e-conomic: the ZIP file from Eksportér data
- Documents attached to their postings when you give access
- Keep your chart as it is, or move to the standard chart
- Reconciled posting by posting and account by account

What to export from e-conomic
First book or delete the lines in your e-conomic journal. Unbooked journal lines are never moved, and the export is a snapshot of what is booked.
Then download e-conomic's full export: Alle indstillinger → Virksomhed → Eksportér data → E-mail regnskabsdata (All settings → Company → Export data → Email accounting data), with the Fra and Til dates empty so every year is included. e-conomic emails a ZIP file with one CSV file per register to the superuser. Send the ZIP file to support@veneti.dk as it came.
The documents come with you in one of two ways:
- Access: install Venetis e-conomic app on your agreement from the link we send you. e-conomic shows an access key under Tilføj app (Add app), which you give to us. We only read from e-conomic and change nothing there: the documents are fetched and attached to their postings, and e-conomic's own account balances are used in the reconciliation.
- Files: Eksportér bilag (Export documents) per accounting year (e-conomic bundles at most 100 documents into one PDF) and Salg → Arkiv (Sales → Archive) for the invoices. Files are kept with the move but are not attached to the individual postings, so access is the better way.
How Veneti reads the export
The move uses eight registers from the export: Postering, Konto and SystemKonto, MomsKode, Kunde, Leverandoer, RegnskabsAar and RegnskabsPeriode, Faktura and Kassekladde. An accounting year with no postings is usually a date limit on the export, and unbooked journal lines are never moved.
Every booked posting becomes a voucher in Veneti with a note naming e-conomic's voucher number and sequence number, so you can always find it again. e-conomic reuses voucher numbers across years and puts several vouchers under one number; in Veneti each voucher gets its own. The opening-balance postings are snapshots of balances, not movements, and are not booked again. A voucher in a foreign currency keeps its currency when all its lines are in it.
The customer and supplier registers become one list of customers and suppliers, merged on CVR number, with payment terms, email, address and EAN number. Invoice numbers and due dates follow the postings, and the open items are rebuilt per customer and supplier, so payments can be settled against them. The accounting years come from e-conomic's own. If the company has a plan when the history is loaded, the periods you closed in e-conomic are closed in Veneti too; otherwise they stay open until you close them yourself under Accounting years.
Keep your chart of accounts, or move to the standard chart
You choose one of three ways for the chart of accounts when you ask us to move your bookkeeping. Keep the chart from e-conomic as it is, so account numbers and names stay the same. Take Venetis standard chart, where every account from e-conomic is mapped to an account in the standard chart and you approve the mapping before anything is loaded. Or take the standard chart with a few accounts of your own. The VAT codes are ready from the start whichever you choose; the standard chart is described in the guide to the chart of accounts.
Reconciled to the last øre
The move is only finished when three things are proven. Every posting from e-conomic is in Veneti once, on the right account, with the same date and amount, and Veneti holds no posting the export does not. The balance of every account and the period's result match e-conomic's own figures, account by account, with equity compared as one total. And the open items per customer and supplier are the same as in e-conomic's account statements, so you can check the list against what you know.
With access to the agreement we reconcile against e-conomic's own account balances for every accounting year. Without access we ask for the Balance and Resultatopgørelse (balance sheet and income statement) for the last closed year as an Excel file from Rapporter → Regnskab → Vis i Excel (Reports → Accounts → Show in Excel). A difference is listed with an explanation.
The history, the plan and the bank
The moved history does not count towards your plan's vouchers, however many years and postings it holds. So choose a plan by how much you will book from now on: Free has 5 vouchers a month, Pro and Pro+ 100 and Max 500, pooled over the accounting year. There is no lock-in, and you can change plan at any time.
Connect the bank through open banking: sign in with MitID in your own online bank, choose the account the transactions are booked on, and set the start date to the day of the switch. From that day every bank line arrives as a line in the journal with a suggested account and VAT code; everything before the date is the history from e-conomic, so nothing is booked twice. You send customer invoices from Veneti as PDF or e-invoice, and the whole bookkeeping can always be downloaded again as SAF-T, CSV and every document as ZIP under Data export. Get started.
What does not come with you
- Products, projects and quantities on the postings.
- Phone numbers and contact persons on customers and suppliers.
- The suppliers' default account: Veneti learns from the booked history instead when new supplier invoices are to be categorised.
- Unbooked journal lines: book or delete them in e-conomic before you export.
- The invoices as documents: their postings are moved, and you can download the PDF files from Salg → Arkiv (Sales → Archive) and upload them as files.
Questions
Where do I find the export in e-conomic?
Alle indstillinger → Virksomhed → Eksportér data → E-mail regnskabsdata (All settings → Company → Export data → Email accounting data). Leave the Fra and Til dates empty so the export covers every year. The ZIP file arrives by email to the superuser, and you send it on as it is.
Do I have to give access to my e-conomic agreement?
It is optional, but it is the easiest way to the documents: with access every document is fetched and attached to its posting, and the reconciliation uses e-conomic's own account balances. We only read from e-conomic through Venetis e-conomic app and change nothing there, and the key is kept where nobody in the browser can read it.
Do I keep my account numbers from e-conomic?
Yes, if you choose to keep the chart of accounts as it is. If you choose the standard chart, every account from e-conomic is mapped to an account in the standard chart, and you approve the mapping before anything is loaded.
What happens to the open invoices?
The open items are rebuilt per customer and supplier with invoice number and due date, so the list of open items is the same as in e-conomic's account statements, and payments can be settled against them.
Do I have to stop booking in e-conomic while you move?
Not necessarily. If you book more in e-conomic before the day of the switch, you send a new export of the postings, and only the postings Veneti does not already hold are loaded. Do wait with booking in Veneti, though, until the move is in place.
